SCHEDULE
In today’s world, migration is no longer just a journey from one place to another. It’s a pathway for learning, experiencing, and—ultimately—returning home with a wealth of knowledge and insight.
The panel titled “Returning Home: Transforming the Country by Leveraging Global Experience” at INOTEX 2025 became a space for honest conversations and powerful stories of Iranian professionals who have walked this very path—with a focus on the human side of migration.
Mehdi Mohammadi, CEO of the knowledge-based Green Web Holding, shared his personal story of migrating to Denmark and eventually returning to Iran. He echoed a feeling familiar to many successful expats:
“Behind success, there is always longing—pain, solitude, and homesickness.”
While migration often leads to advancement and professional success, the emotional cost and cultural disconnection are real. For Mohammadi, the lesson was clear: migration should never mean cutting ties with one’s roots.
Mohammadi identified two essential factors that influence the success of startup teams:
For Mohammadi, returning to Iran wasn’t merely a personal choice—it was a mission. He explained:
“The first thing I did upon returning was to transfer what I had learned to local startup teams. I wanted to show them how to think globally—even from within Iran.”
He compared migration to the journey of migratory birds: it involves both departure and return. And upon returning, every skilled professional has a social responsibility—to pass on what they’ve gained.
Perhaps the most impactful statement of his talk was this:
“If anyone is going to build this country, it’s us. Not just the politicians.”
This simple yet powerful message encapsulates the spirit of INOTEX: a move from slogans to action, from local thinking to global vision, and from individualism to collective progress.
In an age where talented Iranians are scattered across the globe, coming home is not just about physical return.
True return happens when their knowledge, experience, and passion are once again rooted in Iran’s soil.
INOTEX offers a platform to spotlight these experiences—so the next generation can learn from those who left, grew, and returned to build.
